Bonded Metallic Coatings
As the use of Metallic Powder Coatings has gained in popularity, the technology to manufacture these products has had to improve, as well.
In the past, the method of producing metallic powders was to dry blend or mix the metallic element with the base powder. This process resulted in inconsistent dispersion of the metallic component and resulted in poor overall finish quality. With the Metallic Bonding process, the metallic portion of the powder is able to be physically attached to the powder base.
Thus, creating a more consistent and compatible coating than the dry blended materials can achieve. Vitracoat has installed a new state-of-the-art Metallic Bonding process that allows metal or pearlescent mica flakes, by themselves or in combination, to be bonded to the base coat, as opposed to being simply mixed together. The result is a beautiful and more realistic metallic finish. This in-house Metallic Bonding capability allows for un-matched product lead times and provides for exceptional product quality.
